Website usability testing and redesign

Conducting user usability test and user interface redesign
Amtrak is a corporation striving to deliver a high-quality, safe, on-time rail passenger service that exceeds customer expectations.
The aim of the project is to analyze usability issues affecting the website and to discover any redesign solutions required to alleviate the issues and to enhance the user experience. Some usability concerns I identified were no prices on calendar to browse and compare ticket prices, no indication on which train station no longer has trains departing from the specific station, and complicated process for purchasing tickets with promotions.
While facilitating the usability test, I recorded both qualitative and quantitative data through a combination of cumulative and formulative usability test techniques such as “think a loud method” and conducting the experiment in the participant’s natural environment. I measured and documented using adaptive methods outlined in Common Industry Format (CIF) for Usability Test Reports to achieve specified goals with effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction.
